Nepal is confronting with soil loss from fragile hill and mountains, glacier recession from major mountains, flash floods, pollution of surface and ground water and almost consistent energy crisis. The recent efforts have accumulated clues to address these problems on environment, water and energy through research and management studies. On the other hand, being recent historical change in political system, rapid transformation of socio-economic activities will accelerate the problems in Nepal. In this context, we strongly feel the need to call all concerned people from government, universities, research institutes and development organizations to assemble at one place and share the findings, knowledge, expertise and experiences, and contribute to the future of Nepal through need-based researches.
